The overall green building market, both non-residential and residential, is likely to more than double from today’s $36-49 billion to $96-140 billion by 2013. The value of green building construction is projected to increase to $60 billion in 2010.
The U.S. market for green building materials – products that contribute to LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council – generated $58 billion of product demand in 2008. This market is forecasted to expand 6 percent
annually to nearly $80 billion in 2013, outpacing the growth of building construction expenditures over that period.
