Louise Wainscott, Chief Operating Officer
Louise Wainscott has more than 30 years of experience in business operational management. As chief operations officer at Emlen Media Inc., Louise is directly involved with all departments of the company. She performs complete trade show management for the numerous conferences and exhibitions that Emlen attends, ensuring ongoing client relations.
Louise is responsible for managing Emlen’s progressive profiling services and maintains the company’s electronic lead-delivery system. She also oversees readership management for more than 120,000 subscribers, who receive more than 50 electronic and print deliveries a year across all titles. Louise is instrumental in streamlining all departmental processes and procedures, applying the most innovative and effective programs and systems available for maximized publishing efficiency.
Torrey Sims, Publisher
Torrey Sims joined Emlen Media Inc. in 2011, after completing a Master of Arts in journalism at DePaul University in Chicago, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Prior to becoming publisher, Sims served as the managing editor for Emlen Media where she was responsible for managing all content, both print and digitally, for the company’s four publications: Correctional News, School Construction News, Green Building News and HC+O News. As publisher, Sims is responsible for the company’s overall marketing and sales goals. She travels the U.S. to industry events and has interviewed leading architects, builders and government officials for institutional construction nationwide. She also helped to develop Correctional News’ first Corrections Summit: West and organized the event which included more than 100 high-level executive attendees.
Prior to joining Emlen Media she worked as a contributing writer for local newspapers in the Chicago area. Along with her print background she also has experience in broadcast journalism and completed an extensive internship in the specials and investigative unit at CBS News in Chicago. Before moving to Chicago, she graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and studied advanced English literature courses at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. She is based in the company’s Denver office.
Jessie Fetterling, Managing Editor
Jessie Fetterling joined Emlen Media Inc. in 2012 and has served several editorial roles on staff, leading to her current position as managing editor. In this role, she is responsible for managing all content, both print and digitally, for the company’s four publications: Correctional News, School Construction News, Green Building News and HC+O News. She is also responsible for managing Emlen Media’s team of reporters, freelancers and industry contributors.
Prior to her work at Emlen, she worked in similar editorial roles at Bright Business Media, String Letter Publishing and Ogden Publications, to name a few, where she covered everything from group travel to music to environmental awareness. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in English—both from the University of Kansas. Rock Chalk!
Gaby Neal, Art Director
As art director at Emlen Media, Neal oversees all aspects of the production process for each of the company’s titles, from layout and design to print-ready files. Neal is also responsible for designing all marketing collateral, media kits and digital magazines.
Prior to joining Emlen, Neal executed design and production needs for several music industry publications, including Gavin (United Business Media), Sands Reports and Buzz Magazine. At Illumina Design, she worked with Wilson Sports, Rolux Food Systems and National Holistic Institute, among other clients. A native of Germany, Neal began her career in drafting and graphic design before moving to the United States. She holds degrees from West Germany and the University of California Berkeley in Design.
In addition to Neal’s print production responsibilities, she is also in charge of the design, layout and delivery of Emlen’s monthly electronic newswires, as well as weekly postings on the company’s websites, which include, but are not limited to, featured stories, news articles, people in the news and product information.
