Meet our Management Team

Louise Wainscott, Chief Operating Officer

Louise Wainscott has more than 30 years of experience in business operational management. As chief operations officer at Emlen Media Inc., Louise is directly involved with all departments of the company. She performs complete trade show management for the numerous conferences and exhibitions that Emlen attends, ensuring ongoing client relations.

Louise is responsible for managing Emlen’s progressive profiling services and maintains the company’s electronic lead-delivery system. She also oversees readership management for more than 120,000 subscribers, who receive more than 50 electronic and print deliveries a year across all titles. Louise is instrumental in streamlining all departmental processes and procedures, applying the most innovative and effective programs and systems available for maximized publishing efficiency.

Zach Chouteau, Managing Editor

Zach Chouteau is an experienced editor and writer with a background that includes senior positions in trade publishing within the travel industry as well as with the American Booksellers Association.  As Emlen’s Managing Editor, he oversees all content, both print and digitally, for the company’s four publications: Correctional News, School Construction News, Green Building News and HC+O News. Zach also manages Emlen Media’s team of reporters, freelancers and industry contributors.

Zach’s editorial background also includes serving as the editorial manager at Standard & Poor’s San Francisco offices and extensive journalism efforts with the Richmond Standard news website and other platforms and periodicals. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from the University of California – Santa Cruz and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Gaby Neal, Art Director

As art director at Emlen Media, Neal oversees all aspects of the production process for each of the company’s titles, from layout and design to print-ready files. Neal is also responsible for designing all marketing collateral, media kits and digital magazines.

Prior to joining Emlen, Neal executed design and production needs for several music industry publications, including Gavin (United Business Media), Sands Reports and Buzz Magazine. At Illumina Design, she worked with Wilson Sports, Rolux Food Systems and National Holistic Institute, among other clients. A native of Germany, Neal began her career in drafting and graphic design before moving to the United States. She holds degrees from West Germany and the University of California Berkeley in Design.

In addition to Neal’s print production responsibilities, she is also in charge of the design, layout and delivery of Emlen’s monthly electronic newswires, as well as weekly postings on the company’s websites, which include, but are not limited to, featured stories, news articles, people in the news and product information.
